Morrison
was born 'James Morrison Catchpole' in 1984 in
Rugby,
Warwickshire,
England.
Aged 21, he states his musical influences to include Al Green,
Otis Redding, Cat Stevens and the Kinks.
At 13 he
began to learn guitar when his uncle showed him how to play a
blues riff. He started busking when he lived at Porth, a small
village in Cornwall. After years of playing other musicians
songs, he eventually started to write his own. Polydor
Productions signed him and he was the supporting artist for
Corinne Bailey Rae on her tour supporting her debut album.
Morrison released his first album, Undiscovered on
the 31st July, 2006,
and it topped the album charts in its first week of release.
